Our story
From a chance hello, all the way home.
We met on a night filled with noise and movement on Mathew Street at McCooley's — one of those nights where everything feels fast and a little chaotic. And then she walked in. From that moment, something shifted. It felt instantly familiar, like meeting someone I had somehow known before. We got talking, and at one point I helped her down the stairs — just a small, quiet moment, but one that stayed with me. That was the beginning of us.
Our first date was at Panoramic 34 in Liverpool, which still makes us smile… mainly because I don't like heights. In the lift, Tricia could tell something wasn't right, and when I admitted it, she asked why I'd chosen it. I told her it's the best view in Liverpool — and I wanted to do something special for her. It turned into an amazing first date, and later on we returned to the very same place… where I asked her to marry me.
Back then, life looked very different. Tricia was a single parent, and I wasn't someone who believed in marriage or forever. But something real grew between us — steady, calm, and full of warmth. And then there's Erin. She wasn't just part of Tricia's life — she became one of the most important parts of mine. What started as small moments — spending time together, getting to know each other, earning trust — slowly turned into something so much bigger. There was no single moment where everything changed, just a hundred little ones that built something strong, real, and lasting.
Being there for Erin, watching her grow, and building that bond has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. She's brought so much joy, laughter, and meaning into our world, and becoming a father figure to her is something I will never take for granted. Looking back now, none of it feels like coincidence. Finding each other, becoming a family, and choosing this life — it feels exactly as it was meant to be. This isn't just where our story began. This is home.
